Infrastructure – Kalyanam Karoti, Meerut

At Kalyanam Karoti, a significant name for charity in India, we are devoted to the cause of eradicating of blindness and to providing mobility to the physical handicap. Despite the small monetary resource, we have not looked back. Today, we can proudly reflect on our achievements.

We have hospital facilities and we also organize camps to provide relief to the ailing. Our services are based on charity.

Eye ward:

Presently, we have a ward with capacity of twenty beds. Patients from camp sites are brought to the base hospital and admitted in the hospital. They are operated the same day and stay overnight under our care and supervision. Next morning they are examined and sent back to the camp site with post operative medicine. During their stay in the hospital patients are given free meals and are not charged for their stay in the hospital. Clean linen is provided and extreme care is taken to provide hygienic infection free conditions.

Operation Theatre:

We have an operation theatre, fully equipped with three microscopes, to facilitate three operations being done simultaneously. We also have a state of art Phaco machine for stitch less surgery. Utmost care is taken to ensure infection free environment. Our staff is trained in handling emergencies.

OPD:

Eye check

There is a regular OPD facility, with three eye specialists attending nearly hundred patients a day. Patients come to us from far flung areas of Western Uttar Pradesh. They are examined against nominal payment of registration fee, given free or subsidized medicines within their means. Where a patient expresses his inability to pay he is not charged.

We have a good and comfortable waiting area for the patients where patients wait for their turn to be seen by the specialist and for refraction. Refraction of patients is done by a computerized machine and subsequently checked manually.

In the OPD area we have a Minor OT where cases of minor injury to the eye are attended to, as well as, removal of stitches is done.
